A: AtomicSync is a wireless clock system that is specifically designed to provide accurate time to an entire facility. The AtomicSync transmitter receives its atomic time from a built-in WWVB receiver or from a web time server when connected to a PC. After synchronizing its internal clock, the AtomicSync transmitter starts transmitting the atomic time to all system clocks every minute. The AtomicSync wireless clocks open their internal receivers up to six times a day to receive the atomic time and stay synchronized.

Q: What are the differences between TotalSync and 'regular atomic clocks'?
A: 'Regular atomic clocks' are prone to not function in commercial and industrial environments due to bad signal reception, interference, annual battery replacement and overall low quality design. The AtomicSync system is specifically designed for commercial and industrial applications by providing high quality clock design, years of operation without the need for battery replacement and good signal coverage throughout the facility.

Q: What is the transmission range of the AtomicSync system?
A: The AtomicSync system is designed for small to medium wireless synchronized clock system applications. Wireless system coverage is impacted by construction materials, certain shielded areas, transmitter positioning and overall power. The AtomicSync transmitter can easily cover areas of up to 100,000 sq. ft. If larger area coverage is needed, a wireless RF repeater can be added or you can choose from one of our professional clock systems at www.timesyncpro.com .

Q: How long will the batteries last in the system analog clocks?
A: Visiplex recommends using Lithium batteries in all AtomicSync battery operated clocks, but the clocks can be powered by Alkaline batteries as well. A Lithium battery will last longer than an equal Alkaline battery since its voltage level will not fade with time as Alkaline. It's also environmentally safe. AtomicSync clock batteries should last between 2-8 years (depends if Lithium or Alkaline) to provide a long period of maintenance-free operation.

Q: Do I need professional installation?
A: There is no need for a professional installation. The AtomicSync transmitter can be mounted next to a window to receive the WWVB radio signal, or connected to a PC to receive its time synchronization and system setup. The system clocks can be mounted at any facility area as needed, just like any regular battery operated clock.

Q: Will the system keep running when the power goes out?
A: In case of a power outage, the AtomicSync battery operated clocks will continue to display the correct time. The transmitter will be non-active (unless equipped with a power backup UPS). Upon resuming power, the transmitter will start transmitting the accurate time to all system wireless clocks.

Q: Can I expand my system and add more clocks?
A: One of the most significant advantages of a wireless system is the ability to expand the system as needed. The AtomicSync clock system is fully expandable, allowing you to start with a system that fits your immediate needs while maintaining the ability to add more wireless clocks if needed.
